Stage is set for Parish Assembly

Council chairman Richard Bye said: “As always we will be circulating our Annual Report to every household a couple of weeks before the assembly, which will also include details of this year’s event.

“At the assembly itself, in addition to the town council report, county and district councillors will also speak about matters of interest to the town and will be members of the Question Time panel.”

Cllr Bye added: “This format has worked very well in recent years but its success depends partly on having some notice of the questions to be raised, so if there are particular issues which residents wish to discuss it would be helpful if the town clerk could be notified prior to the assembly.”

An innovation at last year’s Assembly was the provision of table displays by a number of groups and organisations.
