COMMUNITY NEWS & REVIEWS: It is always sad to pass on news of someone's death, but it is more distressing when it relates to someone who was not only important and precious to you but also to so many others both in and outside of our own community. Therefore it is with deep and sincere sadness that I have to relay the notice of the passing of our much loved vicar Gordon Winchester.

As many of the residents of Ewhurst Parish were aware, Gordon was valiantly fighting his battle with cancer, that most hated of illnesses, in his own inimitable way, and always with a brave heart, a smile on his face and deep faith in his soul. He was a very popular man, much loved and admired by all and his presence amongst us will be greatly missed. Our deepest condolences are sent to Judy, his beloved wife and their family. Details of his funeral and any further information regarding this, will be made in due course.
