BONFIRE BOYS CAROL SERVICE: Christmas will soon be upon us and this may be just the right time to consider this invitation. It’s another reminder, well a big nudge really, to encourage one and all to come and support this lovely little local Yuletide event. Christmas is such a special time of the year and it is so good to see the results that all the hard work carried out over the last year, of a small but very dedicated society, finally come to fruition. This little group have done so much for many charitable causes, often in difficult circumstances and limited facilities and many local charities have reason to be grateful to them. Bringing their 2014 programme of events to a fitting and fabulous finale, the members of the Ewhurst, Staplecross & Bodiam Bonfire Society will be meeting at the War Memorial, in Staplecross, (opposite the Cross Inn) on Saturday December 6th at 6.15pm. for their ‘Torchlight Procession’ to St. Mark’s church, for their annual Carol Service. This is a spectacular sight to see and is quite amazing as members of the society, and the public alike, - hence your invitation to come and join in, - wend their way along Northiam Road, to this beautiful village church for a special Carol Service, accompanied by so many flaming torches , lighting up the dark night sky. After the service, light refreshments & tea/coffee and mulled wine will be taken in the adjoining church room,and the E.S.B.Bonfire Society will then pass on the funds, that they have raised through various events undertaken throughout the year, to their chosen local charities and good causes. Please come and join us in this special celebratory evening event. Children are very welcome to attend, as is everyone, so not just local residents. - Don’t forget to wrap up warm !!!. New members will always be enthusiastically and warmly welcomed, so if you feel that you’d like to be a part of this dedicated but very friendly group, please contact their Publicity Officer at: john.lederer@mypostoffice tele;
