Remembrance Day on Sunday was marked in the parish by church services and attending war memorials in St James churchyard and at Staplecross. There were about fifty people attending the war memorial at Staplecross to mark the two minutes silence at 11am. Retired RAF officer James Cyster did the honours and laid a wreath on behalf of the Parochial Church Council with David Young representing Ewhurst Parish Council.

The monthly Luncheon Club takes place on Wednesday (November 21) at the village hall at 12.30, open to those in the parish over the age of fifty providing they have put their names down with Anka 830260 or Dennis 830816 beforehand. This club provides delicious meals cooked on the premises and is a good opportunity to socialise.
