Street safety bidfor estate

PCSO Prior wants to get the emergency services and councils together with residents to find out how to improve the area's safety.

He is arranging for the briefing to be held in the next few months.

Opinion is split between residents who are willing for children to play on the central green, often used for parking, and those against the idea.

A survey of 300 households carried out by PCSO Prior revealed 70 opposed to the suggestion and 50 in favour.

PCSO Prior said a key part of the examination of the ideas would be to find out if a fire engine could be driven around the estate's clogged roads. This would determine the approach to parking in the area.
