Summer fair success for RAFA branch
It raised a total of 631.48 which RAFA president Ken Igglesden was delighted by and said was the highest ever total for this event.
Takings were already up as John Leahy on the door confirmed: "We have had lots of people - it is the good weather...if it had been raining we would not have had all these visitors, but we have been very busy. The first influx when we opened up was very good - people were just streaming in."

Sandra Pasfield reported huge success as ever with the cake sale and said: "It has been wonderful - we had so much produce brought in for it, it was lovely - we are sold out."
Eileen Slinn and Maisie Gillespie were pleased with the response to their WRAF/WAAF grocery basked full of desireable goodies.
Eileen commented: "It has been excellent. This is our contribution as ex-service women, and we have just taken 92 on the basket - that can't be bad, can it? We are very proud."

You couldn't seen the place for the people in it - we have done very well. On the book stall here we have taken just under 60 today, and as they are only twenty odd pence each, it shows we have sold a lot."
