Support for the town’s food bank

LITTLEHAMPTON Food Bank opened last November at Littlehampton Baptist Church – and since then there has been an outpouring of food and financial donations.

Food bank co-ordinator Hazel Cooper said there had been ‘a wonderful amount of financial and food donations from the community’.

She said: “We would like to thank you all and pray that you continue to help us in this way, as without this we cannot help the vulnerable in our community. In April we joined a national group of food banks called the Trussell Trust. For our clients this means they will have to go to a referral agency to get a voucher before coming to the food bank.”

The food bank referral agencies are: the Wickbourne Centre, CAB, Littlehampton Community Services, TLA, Littlehampton Children and Family Centre, East Preston Children and Family Centre, and Carers Support.

Hazel asked clients to approach these agencies.

Trussell Trust is a Christian organisation and every client is offered a simple prayer.
