Sussex school children on Westminster visit are '˜safe'

A group of Sussex schoolchildren on a day trip to Westminster are in a safe place following a terrorist incident this afternoon (Wednesday), an East Sussex County Council spokesman has confirmed.

The spokesman said a group of 15 pupils and three staff members from Herstmonceux Primary School had been visiting Parliament as part of a trip to learn how the democratic process works when the attack took place.

The pupils, who are aged between seven- and 11-years-old and are involved with the school’s student council, are in Parliament’s education centre, the spokesman added.
