Tasty surprise for Angmering tots

Toddlers in Angmering were given a tasty surprise for their Easter egg hunt

Members of the Arundel and District Rotary Club donated 50 chocolate eggs to the William Older Playgroup, in Angmering, last week.

The gifts were then added into a kitty of about 100 eggs that were used as special prizes for the nursery’s Easter egg treasure hunt.

Sue Droys, manager of the playgroup, said: “We were so grateful for the Rotary club’s donation.

“We had about 100 children and their families taking part in this year’s Easter egg hunt.

“For the club to donate 50 eggs was great. It meant that all the children got an Easter treat at the end of the day”

She added: “It was a fun-filled day for everyone.”

Fiona Rose, of the Rotary club, said the group was happy to support the playgroup, which is based in the grounds of St Margaret’s Primary School, in Arundel Road.

She said: “The playgroup is a wonderful charity school with plenty of outdoor fun and enjoys lovely natural surroundings.

“The annual Easter egg hunt is used to create a fun-filled day for the youngsters and raise money for a variety of reasons. Arundel and District Rotary Club is always looking to support the local community and donated 50 Easter eggs for the day. Combined with the other donations over 90 children went home with a very big chocolatey smile.”
