RESIDENTS of Harbour Way on Shoreham Beach are up in arms about the number of untaxed cars blocking the car park near their home.

They say the problem has been ongoing and that at times there are as many as six or seven cars taking up valuable spaces even though they are not taxed and therefore not deemed roadworthy.

Resident Charles Powell, said: It is so frustrating, you can t seem to get anywhere with anyone. We have had to put up with this for about a month now, it s just not acceptable.

William White said: At least six of the vehicles are not taxed at all, it has gone on for so many weeks.

When people want to use the car park at the weekend there just aren t the spaces, so they park on the pavements outside our houses.

The car park might not appear busy in the week but come the weekend, especially if the weather is nice, or the yacht club have a special event, the lack of spaces causes a real problem.

These cars are not taxed, so they should not be there.

John Bradshaw said: These cars are taking up available parking spaces that could be used by other people.

The police have been out and put stickers on the cars because they are not taxed but the stickers just get ripped off and ignored, they should be removed.

These cars must have been driven here without any tax because they certainly weren t delivered on a trailer.

Everyone else has to tax their vehicle, why should they get away with it?
