“I had my photo taken by the Worthing Herald, observed a lesson, hosted an assembly, and went into classes to look at their work.

“I feel that being a head teacher is a massive role and that the responsibilities you have are big, strong and important.

“I would love to be a head teacher one day. It has been an amazing experience and maybe one of the best days of the year.”

Mr Gadd said: “Taylor has been an outstanding leader of our school council, having been voted into the role by his fellow pupils last September.

“The opportunity to be the school’s head teacher for a day allowed him to put the skills he has developed into practice on a much bigger scale.

“He performed the role brilliantly and I hope will continue to take the lead as he moves on to high school at the end of this year.”
