Teen robbed for iPod in East Preston

A TEENAGER was robbed of his iPod while walking home from school.

It happened in Ambersham Crescent, East Preston, at about 3.30pm yesterday (Monday, October 18), when the 15-year-old boy was grabbed by a man who demanded he hand over the mp3 player.

DS John Witt from Arun CID said: “This was a very alarming incident for this young man who became aware of the suspect as he crossed the junction from Downs Way shortly before he was approached. He was then grabbed and pushed against a wall before being robbed of his iPod.

“Sadly, younger people using personal entertainment systems in the street and particularly, walking alone, need to be aware that they should keep them out of sight and be as discreet as possible in using them.”

The man, who ran off in the direction towards Downs Way and Angmering railway station, is described as white, in his late teens or early 20s, more than 6ft tall, with stubble growth around his chin, and wearing a black hoody and grey jogging bottoms.
