Teenager arrested after car rolled on A27 at Hammerpot

AN 18-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a car crash left four people in hospital.

A blue Peugeot 106 left the east bound carriageway of the A27 near Hammerpot at about 12.10am on Wednesday, before rolling over and coming to rest in a field

A 17-year-old girl from Worthing was taken to St Richard's Hospital with serious spinal injuries, a 16-year-old girl, also from Worthing, was taken to Worthing Hospital, and a 17-year-old girl from Hassocks was taken to St Richard's, both with minor injuries.

A spokesman for Sussex police said: "The 18-year-old male driver was taken to Worthing hospital with slight injuries and has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. He is currently in custody awaiting interview."
