Teenager arrested over vicious Littlehampton assault

A 19-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in connection with a violent assault in Littlehampton that left a victim with a fractured spine and ribs.

Sussex Police confirmed this morning (Thursday, October 24) that they arrested the man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent on Tuesday (October 22).

A 38-year-old man was left with a fractured spine and ribs and a collapsed lung after he was attacked at the junction of New Road and Bayford Road on Saturday morning (October 19) at around 12.30am.

The arrested man was questioned and has been bailed until November 28.

Detective Sergeant Colin O’Hare said: “The victim of the attack, a 38-year-old local man, remains in the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton where he is reported to be in a stable condition and making good progress considering his injuries.

“We are still interested to hear from wintesses to the assault in New Road around 12.30am on Saturday morning.
