Tell us how Bognor can be made better

Altogether there are 14 regeneration proposals for Bognor’s centre.

In today’s (Thursday, May 19) Bognor Regis Observer we reveal details of what the group 4BR is proposing.

Those behind it say a ‘catalytic change to help regenerate Bognor Regis’ is at the core of their plans.

Amongst the plans are eye-catching architectural pictures and drawings of what they want to do with the Regis Centre, as well as building a new marina on the seafront. See the paper for full details and pictures.

In next week’s paper we will be profiling at least one other regeneration proposal, trying to get under the skin of the plans that could shape how Bognor will look in five, ten, even fifty years time.

Of course the much-needed revitalisation of Bognor is not only about these regeneration plans, there is so much more to it.

There are long-standing plans to bid for £5m of Lottery funding to safeguard Bognor’s historic pier, and a huge fundraising effort to go alongside it.

There are calls for more provisions for our young people, with frustrations over the 39 Club, which has been ready to open again for four years but has been repeatedly stalled.

There is the expansion of the University of Chichester’s Bognor Campus, with exciting £23m plans to create an engineering and digital technology park as well as student rooms on the site, which would see 1,200 more students educated there.

There is the makeover of the High Street, hopefully attracting more businesses to the town centre, along with the thousands of new homes that will be built in the town and surrounding areas.

Over the coming weeks we will be examining all of these things, but most importantly we want to hear your ideas and vision, what you like and don’t like.
