The Great Rye Swapathon
UNWANTED items became other people’s treasures in Rye on Saturday when the Transition Town Rye group held a Swop Shop.
The last Swop Shop, in October, attracted more than 300 people and there was a good turn-out for Saturday’s event despite the snowy weather.
The aim of the initiative is to recycle unwanted goods among other people and prevent them from going into landfill.
The group is planning on holding some public meetings this year with a view to steering Rye toward becoming a Transition Town.
