POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a further report of tools being stolen from an unattended van.

An orange and white coloured Sthil hedge cutter was stolen from the roof of a gardener’s vehicle in Glengorse, Battle, between 11.30am and 4pm last Thursday (May 24).

Tools have also been taken from vans in Mountfield and Staplecross in recent weeks.

PCSO James Armstrong said: “A number of thefts from vehicles have occurred across Rother district recently and we would like to remind everyone to ensure their vehicles are secure and no valuables are on display, as these are just an invite to an opportunistic thief.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
