Three crashes in Battle in just two hours

Police were called out to three crashes in just over two hours this morning (Thursday).

At 6.20am an off-duty police officer heading to work discovered a red Suzuki estate car on its side in Powdermill Lane, Battle.

The driver, a woman from Eastbourne, was taken to hospital by ambulance, but her injuries were not thought to be serious.

The road was closed whilst the vehicle was recovered and reopened an hour later.

Just after 7.20am, a motorcyclist heading into Catsfield, near The Stream, collided with a car turning right into a layby.

The biker was taken to hospital, although police said his injuries were not believed to be serious.

And just after 8.30am a Toyota and Peugeot collided on Hastings Road, Battle, near Crowhurst Park.

The Toyota driver, from Battle, and the Peugeot driver, from Hastings, were not taken to hospital.

The road was not closed, but police were called to redirect traffic.
