Three released on police bail over death of cyclist on New Year’s Day in St Leonards

Three people arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after the death of a cyclist on St Leonards seafront on New Year’s Day have been released on police bail.

A fourth person has been released without charge in relation to the enquiries into the death of 23-year-old Jamie Murray. Mr Murray died after being involved in a collision on the bike he was riding and a car around 4am on January 1 on Grand Parade at the junction with Warrior Square. A 24-year-old man from Bexhill has been given bail until May 14. A 24-year-old Hastings man has been given bail until May 5. A 17-year-old boy from Bexhill has been released on bail until May 6. The fourth person, a 24-year-old Bexhill man has released without charge.
