Toy bargains galore as Red Cross stages bumper sale

THE best selection of Christmas gift toys in town on Saturday was to be found at the British Red Cross Centre.

Buzz Lightyear, Bob The Builder '“ they were all there in the London Road headquarters, just waiting for eager young owners to give them a good home.

By the end of a busy afternoon's trading the stalls were still stacked high with brightly-coloured soft toys.

Delighted centre organizer Rosemary Barry said: "We have got so many toys it is unbelievable!

"I think we have something for nearly every age range."

The donated toys came from the estate of an avid collector. All were new and in pristine condition.

Fireman Sam and Tigger for a pound apiece sounded like excellent value in "credit crunch"-chastened economic times.
