TRAFFIC ALERT: Resurfacing work on the A27 at Broadwater starts Monday

RESURFACING work on the A27 at Broadwater is due to get underway on Monday.

Both carriageways of the A27 Upper Brighton Road, between Broadwater roundabout and Sompting Bypass in Worthing will be improved.

The work, which is expected to last for four weeks, will take place between 8pm and 6am when traffic volumes are expected to be lowest to minimise delays.

During these times only, there will be single lane closures on both carriageways and temporary traffic lights at various locations. Some roads will also be closed where they join the A27.

Any work expected to be noisy will be completed before 11pm each night whenever possible.

Martin Wright, route performance manager for Sussex, said: "The new road surface will improve safety and reduce the level of noise for road users on this section of the A27.

"Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys while this safety work is carried out as slight delays may occur."
