The free wristbands are an easy way of making sure lost children are carrying the name and contact number of their parent or guardian and are available from the Lifeguard Hut.

A call out earlier this afternoon ended happily after the children were found safe and well just as the rescue team left the station, but families are being reminded to be aware of the whereabouts of their youngsters.

The coastguard station posted: “Please keep an eye on your children at all times when at the beach.

In an emergency out at sea or along the coast dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.”
