Pensioner rushed to hospital after Brighton seafront crash

A 90-year-old woman was rushed to hospital with multiple injuries following a crash on Brighton seafront.

Police said a pedestrian and a blue Hyundai Matiz collided at the junction of the A259 Grand Junction Road and Black Lion Street at about 1pm on Monday (September 3).

The pensioner, from South Croydon, suffered head, wrist and shoulder injuries and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital for treatment. Officers said she has since returned home.

A 51-year-old man from Portslade, who was driving the car, was not hurt.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and contact 101, quoting serial 663 of 03/09.
