A29: Part of major West Sussex road to close for 10 days
Part of a major West Sussex road is set to close for ten days.
The A29 Church Hill in Pulborough will be closed from Monday, April 20 for 10 days between the junctions of Lower Street and Church Place to ‘allow for essential safety work’, according to West Sussex County Council (WSCC).
A WSCC spokesperson said: “The county council’s highways team and contractors will be carrying out maintenance including clearing large amounts of vegetation that’s grown alongside the road and routine inspections of the banks either side of the road.
“The road will have to be fully closed to move the concrete blocks for access to the banks and to ensure the safety of the team while onsite.

"Full details are published on One Network.
“A diversion route will follow the A29 Billingshurst, A272, A24, and A283.
“There will be no parking cones on New Place Road during the closure.”
The A29 was shut by WSCC in December 2022 following a landslide which led to chaos in the village with traffic snarl-ups, safety fears and a loss of trade for local businesses.
