Arrest as car overturns in Littlehampton

An arrest has been made following a collision in Littlehampton, police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to Arundel Road, opposite the junction with Water Lane, at 8.46pm on Wednesday evening (July 22) where a grey Ford Mondeo had flipped on to its side. No other vehicles were involved, police said.

A 27-year-old woman from Worthing was taken to Worthing Hospital for treatment for minor injuries.

A 34-year-old man from Littlehampton was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving and drink-driving. He received treatment for minor injuries and remained in custody on Thursday morning.

A police spokesman said: "Anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have seen or captured on dashcam the Mondeo in the area in the time leading up to it is asked to report online or call 101 quoting serial 1482 of 22/07."
