Delays between Oxted and Uckfield due to broken down train

An earlier broken down train is causing rail delays between Oxted and Uckfield.

Southern Rail said the broken down train at Crowborough has now been moved, allowing the line between Oxted and Uckfield to reopen.

But a spokesman added: “Delays and alterations between these stations will may still occur as the service returns to normal. We anticipate a good service will be operating from approximately 1.30.”

Journeys on this route may take longer, as a number of Southern services between Uckfield and Oxted are still subject to delays of up to 20 minutes and alterations, he said.

Brighton & Hove Buses between Uckfield, Crowborough town centre and Tunbridge Wells, and also between Uckfield and Lewes

Southeastern services between Tunbridge Wells and London Bridge

Alternative Southern services on any reasonable route, including between Lewes, Haywards Heath and London Victoria
