Crews from Horsham and Billingshurst attended and put out the flames with a bucket of water. They left half an hour later.

Six appliances, as well as officers and support appliances, were deployed when the fire first broke out on Monday, August 15.

The blaze raged for more than two-and-a-half hours and destroyed the roof and the first floor of the property as well as severely damaging the ground floor, the fire service said.

The family were left devastated by the loss of their home.
