Six crews tackled the blaze at the Beaky’s Nursery building in Sedlescombe Road North, Hastings, yesterday afternoon (read the original story about the incident here). Firefighters found the 20m by 15m building was alight and warned residents to avoid the area while they worked to extinguish the flames – see more here. There were no reports of injuries or any people involved, the fire service confirmed. Crews used two breathing apparatus and six hose reel jets to tackle the blaze. A fire spokesman said the cause of the fire was under investigation, but said: “At this time are treating it as deliberate.” Kevin Boorman from Hastings Borough Council has provided photos showing the extent of the damage to the building – see them below.
