MP for Mid Sussex Nicholas Soames has paid tribute to a police officer who was fatally stabbed outside Parliament today.

The officer, who has not yet been named, is one of four people reported to have died as a result of the Westminster attack, which is being treated as a terrorist incident.

Police shot the assailant dead after he reportedly drove into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge before attacking the officer with a knife outside the House of Commons.
