Repairs to leaking water main will mean complete closure of West Sussex village road

A Yapton road will need to be completely closed while a leaking water main is repaired.

West Sussex County Council has made an order to temporarily close Maypole Lane throughout its entire length.

The council said the road closure is needed to allow a leaking water main to be repaired in safety.

The order will come into effect on January 5, 2026, and remain in force until February 2, 2026. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.
