Road closure planned for Pevensey Bay level crossing

The stretch of road next to Pevensey Bay level crossing is set to be closed for four nights this month.

Fifteen metres either side of the crossing, in Wallsend Road, will be closed from February 21 to February 24 between 11.30pm and 5am while Network Rail complete civil engineering works.

A safe route has been provided for motorists which is via Eastbourne Road, Pevensey Bay Road, Martello Roundabout, Pevensey Bay Road, Crumbles Roundabout, Pevensey Bay Road, Langney Roundabout, Langney Rise, Hide Hollow Roundabout, Hide Hollow, Priory Roundabout, Hide Hollow, Eastbourne Road, High Street, Castle Road, High Street and vice versa.

A different route has been given to HGV drivers which is via Pevensey Bay Road, Martello Roundabout, Pevensey Bay Road, Crumbles Roundabout, Pevensey Bay Road, Langney Roundabout, St Anthonys Avenue, Seaside Roundabout, Lottbridge Drove, Birch Roundabout, Lottbridge Drove, Lottbridge Roundabout, Highfield Link, Willingdon Drove, Golden Jubilee Way, Dittons Road Roundabout North, Pevensey Bypass, Pevensey Haven Roundabout, Bexhill Road vice versa.
