Schoolgirl injured in bus stop crash

A schoolgirl is expected to be flown to hospital after a crash at a village bus stop.

Police said an 11-year-old girl and a van collided along the B2159 Storrington Road, at Abingworth, at about 7.45am this morning (March 22).

Paramedics and the Air Ambulance were called and treated the girl for head injuries.

Police said she is expected to be flown to St George’s Hospital, in Tooting, London, for further treatment. No-one else was injured.

The crash took place near a bus stop close to the Abingworth development.

The B2139 has been closed at the Greenhurst Lane junction and The Street.
