Storrington woman suffers heart attack at the wheel following crash in Worthing

A woman who was shouted and sworn at following a crash in Worthing suffered a heart attack as she drove home, police have said.

Officers said the collision took place at 10.15pm on Saturday, July 30, between The Cricketers and The Broadwater pubs in Broadwater Street West, Worthing.

Police said it involved a Fiat, being driven by a 55-year-old woman from Storrington, and a parked black Mercedes-Benz.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “The occupant of this car, a black Mercedes-Benz, reacted in an aggressive manner.

“The woman, 55, from Storrington, began to feel unwell but managed to drive home before calling an ambulance and being taken to hospital.

“Anyone who saw what happened is asked to email [email protected] or phone 101, quoting serial 704 of 01/08.”
