East Sussex incidents

Stagecoach South East reported, shortly after 7am, that its 99 bus service was being disrupted in Bexhill.

“Our 99 service is currently unable to serve Sackville Road, Wickham Avenue and Cooden Drive because of the closure of Westcourt Drive due to a burst water main,” a social media notice read.

"We are also unable to serve the Manor Barn stop on both 98 & 99 services Sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

AA Traffic News reported queueing on A259 Bexhill Road, both ways near Aldi. The traffic notice at 7.40am added: “Congestion to half a mile either side.”

Sussex Traffic Watch, on X (formerly Twitter), advised that roadworks have been causing delays.

Separate traffic reports stated: “A259 Eastbourne Rd in Seaford – roadworks with temporary lights continue expect delays at peak times.

"A259 at Bulverhythe between Bexhill and Hastings – roadworks with temporary lights continue to cause delays on both approaches.”

A further social media post at 8.30am added that ‘long delays continue on both approaches’ to the A259 at Bulverhythe.

The traffic information page advised that there are slow southbound delays on A2690 Queensway in Hastings – and there is ‘queuing traffic on all three approaches’ to the A21 at the Ridge West junction with the A28.

Roadworks, with temporary lights, ‘continue to cause delays on both approaches’ on the A269 in Ninfield, according to Sussex Traffic Watch.
