The analysis is based on the number of road accidents, where someone was injured, which took place between 2014 and 2018. Over the five-year period, 456 accidents took place on the A259 in Brighton and Hove, making it the most dangerous road in Sussex. In fact the four top accident hotspots are all located within Brighton and Hove. Across the country during the time period analysed, there were more than 670,000 accidents causing injury or death. According to the figures from 2018, an average of 336 accidents causing death or injury happen every day on roads across Britain. Below, we have ranked the most dangerous roads in Sussex by looking at the number of accidents which took place between January 1 2014 and December 31 2018.
