Three more chimney fires over Easter

Firefighters faced another ten chimney fires across the county over the past four days, including three in the Horsham district.

The emergency service was called out to a house in Bushfield, Plaistow, at around 6.40pm on Saturday (March 30).

Specialist chimney equipment and a thermal imaging camera were used.

Yesterday (Monday April 1) firefighters were called to a home in Woodfield Road, Rudgwick, around lunchtime and a house in Vale Drive, Horsham, a couple of hours later.

At the latter incident a triple extension ladder and a roof ladder were used.

Other chimney fires were dealt with at Turners Hill, Sharpthorne, Lancing, Foxhill, East Wittering, Bosham and East Grinstead.
