UPDATE: Teen suffers serious head injuries in Southwater crash

Police are seeking witnesses to an incident in which a motorcyclist was seriously injured on the A24 at Southwater.

At about 10.50pm on Saturday 6 April, the 17-year-old Horsham boy was riding south on the A24 at Southwater near Horsham, when he fell from his machine and sustained a head injury. He is currently in the Royal Sussex County Hospital at Brighton in a serious but not life threatening condition.

No other vehicle was reported to be involved.

PC Steve Taylor of the Sussex Road Policing Unit said; “Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact us via 101 quoting Operation Fenwick, or by emailing [email protected].

“The southbound carriageway was closed for several hours while the incident was investigated and the scene cleared, and we and the Highways Authority appreciate the patience of drivers who were affected by this.”
