Warning to parents after pupil approached by stranger

A Horsham school has issued a warning after one of its pupils claimed they were asked to get in a car by a stranger.

Tanbridge House School sent a message to parents following an incident in the Bishopric on Monday evening (March 20).

In the message the school said: “Just to let you know that last night a young person from Tanbridge was approached and asked to get in a car by a middle aged black woman with a short afro.

“The incident occurred near the Bishopric. Police have been informed.

“We have made students aware of this but ask you also discuss/keeping safe with them and report any concerns to us or the police.

“We will be informing local primary schools this morning.”

Sussex Police has been approached for comment.
