West Sussex rail delays due to safety inspection; services 'unable to run' on key routes
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Southern Rail reported at 3pm that a safety inspection of the track is required between Horsham and Barnham.
"Delays to services are expected as caution is advised through the area,” a statement on X (formerly Twitter) read.

Hide Ad"Services that run from Portsmouth Harbour, Bognor Regis and Barnham towards Horsham, Gatwick Airport and London Victoria, can still run, but are likely to be disrupted, with cancellations and alterations possible.


“Services are unable to currently run from Horsham towards Barnham, Bognor Regis and Portsmouth Harbour.”
Southern has advised people to ‘delay your journey if possible’.
"However if you do travel now your journey will take much longer that normal, you will need to allow extra time for your journey,” a spokesperson added/

Ticket acceptance is in place on the following services to assist you completing your journey:
– Southern and Thameslink services via any reasonable route, including for travel via Brighton/Hove/Worthing;
– London Underground services between London Victoria and London Waterloo to connect with South Western Railway between London Waterloo/Clapham Junction and Portsmouth/Southampton.
