Widespread A27 queues and seafront disruption: Sussex travel update for October 13

Scattered queues along the A27 are the story of the roads of Sussex this morning (October 13).

There is very slow traffic between Worthing and Shoreham. Queuing traffic has been reported on A259 Brighton Road both ways from The Saltings (Saltings Roundabout) to A2025 South Street. Temporary traffic lights are in place for water main works, causing heavy congestion eastbound.

There are further delays on A27 Upper Brighton Road both ways from A24 Findon Road to Busticle Lane.

Very slow traffic has also been reported on A27 Old Shoreham Road westbound from A283 Steyning Road (Steyning turn off) to A2025 Grinstead Lane (Sompting Roundabout).

In East Sussex, traffic is queuing along the A27 around the Beddingham roundabout - the junction with the A26 - particularly westbound.

A lane is closed on A27 Polegate By Pass both ways between A2270 Eastbourne Road and A22 (Cop Hall Roundabout), due to construction works, with queues backing up in all directions.
