Triplets update: Little Penny back with siblings at St Richard's Hospital

The new parents of triplets have been able to hold one of the girls for the first time after she was transferred back to St Richard's Hospital to be with her brother and sister.

Penelope, the biggest of the triplets born on April 21 at 32 weeks, has had breathing problems and had been at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.

For a week, proud parents Rachel Ballard and Kris Moyse, from Middleton, were only able to hold William and Polly, but yesterday evening, Thursday, April 28, Kris posted on Facebook: “TRIPLET UPDATE - Penny returns!

“A huge 12 hours for Supermum & I as after that short visit to QA on Tuesday we flew over there again last night desperate for time with our girl.

“Upon arriving smiles began to grow as Mummy was instantly greeted with her first ever cuddle with little Penelope

“Then, with rumours stirring of her possibly imminent return to St Richards, at 1:30pm today it was confirmed. The transport team had arrived at QA and were on route back with our youngest girl!

“So at 3:30pm, Penny arrived back to St Richards, somewhat hidden in a strange, microwave-looking contraption and was soon back in her incubator next door to her maternal bro & sis.

“Time will now be the stepping stone that takes her from the incubator into a joint cot where, for the first time since the womb, the trio will be reunited

“Welcome back to Sussex Penny, MY GOD we missed you!!”

His post has been liked more than 300 times, and a huge number of people have left comments expressing their joy at the positive news.

Rachel has two children from a previous relationship, seven-year-old Jacob, and Harrison, nine - meaning their family has grown from four to seven.

They were born on the Queen’s 90th birthday and were conceived naturally, something which is extremely rare.
