Trust's cash boost from PCC's community fund

The Community Safety Fund supports projects that provide a positive and lasting impact on the local community.

The Education Futures Trust’s ‘Outdoor Survival Squad’ is a series of inspirational survival skills and conservation sessions for young people in Hastings aged 10-16 years.

These courses improve team work, communication, community involvement, resilience and work-based skills, leading to the possibility of an accredited award in conservation, or a Young Leader qualification.

Carole Dixon, CEO of Education Future Trust, said: “We were delighted with our success in gaining funding for our youth group.

“This allows us to extend our outdoor learning and conservation work to young people outside school hours. As well as learning new practical skills, young people are developing teamwork, building self-esteem and confidence, while clearing and improving areas of green space.’
