Two injured in Storrington horror crash

TWO men were airlifted to hospital after a horror crash in Storrington.

The accident happened at around 2.30pm on Monday when a UPS delivery van collided with a Calor gas tanker on the B2139 near School Hill.

The drivers, both seriously injured, were airlifted to hospital by helicopter after being cut free from the wreckage by firefighters.

Fire crews spent two hours checking the body of the gas tanker to ensure there were no leaks.

The road was closed immediately by police, with the fire service later saying they believed it would remain closed until at least 9.30pm while police investigators examined the scene.
