Two killed in crash

The accident happened at 9.30pm on the A259 between East Dean and Eastbourne.

A white Nissan car collided with a green Ford Ka.

The Nissan driver was a man in his 60s from the area.

He died at the scene from his injuries.

The Ford was driven by a woman in her early 40s from the area.

She also died at the scene from her injuries.

Two young women suffered serious injuries and are currently being treated at Eastbourne District General Hospital. An 18-year-old was in the Nissan and a 17-year-old in the Ford.

The road was closed until 3.40am.
