Two seriously injured in A283 head on collision

A two year old girl from Bognor Regis was one of two people seriously injured in a head-on collision on the A283 near Northchapel yesterday afternoon (Thursday, August 13).

She was taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting suffering from leg injuries.

The driver of the other car, a 34 year old woman from Pulborough was also taken to St George’s Hospital suffering from a broken pelvis and cuts. She was driving a silver Skoda Fabia.

The 26 year old father of the injured child who was driving a white Nissan Pulsar, was treated at St George’s hospital for whiplash injuries, but he was not detained.

The A283 was closed for nearly five hours after the accident which happened 390 metres north of its junction with Streel’s Lane to Ebernoe while debris from the crash and oil were cleared from the carriageway.

It re-opened at 6.45pm yesterday.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
