UPDATE: Angmering man to appear in court charged with attempted murder

POLICE have charged an Angmering man with attempted murder following a stabbing incident in Rustington, on Friday (September 13).

Unemployed Gareth Healey, 24, of Meadowside, has been remanded in custody to appear before Worthing Magistrates’ Court, later today (September 16).

Police were called to Oakhurst Gardens at 9.18pm, where paramedics treated two men for serious stab wounds.

The victims, one with serious injuries, and one with critical injuries, were taken to hospital.

The second man’s injuries were feared life-threatening but both were judged to be stable.

A 44-year-old man from Rustington, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed until October 7.

A 52-year-old man from Rustington, also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been released with no further action.

A 47-year-old man from Rustington remains in hospital where he is recovering from multiple stab wounds.
