UPDATE: Car windows smashed on Worthing seafront

Two men from Seaford have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage after a car was found with its windows smashed last Friday.

Police were called to Marine Parade at 10.50am following reports that all the windows of an Audi saloon car had been broken.

Officers stopped a car being driven east on the A27 at Lewes later the same morning and arrested two men on suspicion of criminal damage, police said. The men, aged 43 and 18, were interviewed and released on police bail until May 10 while enquiries continue.

Police said that two hammers were seized from the car for examination and the vehicle was parked and unoccupied when the windows were broken.

A police spokesperson said: “It is believed that the incident may have stemmed from a business dispute among people known to each other.”
