Update: Drink-drive arrest after car hits Crawley house

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a car hit a house in Crawley.

Police and firefighters were called to the scene in Messenger Close, Ifield at 10.15am today (Wednesday June 8).

A police spokesman said the collision caused structural damage to the house and added: “A 52-year-old man from Crawley was arrested nearby on suspicion of drink driving and currently remains in custody.”

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters made the scene safe.

A police appeal stated no other vehicles were believed to be involved and there were no reported injuries.
