UPDATE: Teenager arrested after police pursuit

Police said officers followed a Ford Fiesta after it failed to stop for a patrol in Station Road, East Preston, at 9.45pm.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said the car was pursued for around five minutes before the driver abandoned it in Epsom Gardens, in Rustington.

The car was seized and the driver detained, the spokesman added.

A 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, drug driving, failing to stop and having no insurance.

He has been bailed until May 18 pending further enquiries.
