Using talent to raise charity cash

An inflatatable sumo suited singer helped a Barnham school's sixth formers raise money for seriously ill children.

The unusually dressed soloist took part in the St Philip Howard School's Got Talent show which showcased the abilities of the pupils.

More traditionally dressed singers, dancers and musicians paraded their skills before a discerning audience in aid of Chestnut Tree House children's hospice.

The talent show was among the events staged by the sixth form students to bring in a total of 1,432. Among the most popular were a game show, with contests such as cracker eating, and a panto based on Romeo and Juliet.

Each occasion counted towards the final amount which continued the school's support for the Angmering hospice.

The sixth formers chose the good cause to continue the tradition of the school in backing the charity.
